On the recent CES (International Consumer Electronics Show), Yahoo has announced that they will cooperate with some other companies to put their Yahoo TV Widget built-in TV set into the market. Samsung has already displayed this TV set on CES and other companies such as Sony, LG and Vizio will also promote their IP TV, which supports Yahoo TV Widget.

TV Widget is a small tool built in TV set; it allows the customers to connect with the Internet. Through using the remove control they can browser the websites, send messages to the friends, check the stocks or the sport news even interact with the TV program they are watching. This will bring different entertainment experience to the customers when they are using TV.

Currently, the TV Widget Yahoo planed to release includes news, weather, finance service, and web photo album Flicker. The other TV Widgets, which have already been released or will be released, include eBay, MySpace, Twitter, Netflix, Amazon and so on. Ultimately, Yahoo aimed to extent their battlefield from Internet to TV. Some exporters have indicated that although in the past there is no successful example of the service trying to combine with internet and TV, they hold optimistic view to this new try of Yahoo. Since Apple iPhone successfully applied Internet to the mobile phone, consumers have already got used to use different media on one device.

Moreover the action that Yahoo will extent their internet service to TV, will help Yahoo website to increase their media exposure. Besides boosting yahoo advertising income, developing Internet interaction may also be a breakpoint for the traditional TV advertising as well. This will help Yahoo to get the leading position in future TV interacted advertising industry and find a new source of advertising income.
