It is an attractive position being a designer, because you have so much fun in producing creative artworks. However it becomes boring when it comes to organizing content, however once you form the habit of organizing content, you will discover it is actually not as boring as you think. Organizing content is based on situations.

There are many possibilities on how to arrange the content, and where to put the content. However there are still rules to follow. The most fundamental step is to decide the effect your design strikes to achieve. For example, do you sell stuff on your website? Or do you use your website for displaying purpose, or promotional purpose? etc.

Let’s have a look at this fast growing website: 37signals. The reason why they can attract so many buyers is not just on luck. Their website facilities the way to understand their products, and even help you to make the final decision. What you can see has been cleverly displayed.

As shown in the screen shot, they have provided 4 main reasons for you to buy their products. Attention is the first step, here they have created a black block, containing a brief introduction about the product. Then through some illustration to attract your interest on the strengths of the product. Furthermore, they want to created the your desire to purchase the product, it can be achieve by putting “What our customers have to say” or quote, or even product award. In this example, they achieved the result by showing online videos. At last, is to call for action; 37Signals contains a lot of action points, which keeps users for the next step.
